2016 DokiDoki May unboxing

DOKIDOKI

This is a Japan Crate kawaii box (https://www.japancrate.com/dokidoki) crafted for the Japanese/Weeb enthusiast. Sorry I didn't get many individual photos as I forgot I unbox these things and I was too excited when I finally received it. This box runs 30$/month on a month-by-month and that includes shipping. I found this as an ad on my facebook. But I'm kind of glad I clicked into it because I thought Japan Crate was just snacks. Snacks last for a short period of time. Kawaii things lay around your house until you find a place for them forever. Ha!

Mays box is Sweet Deco Doki Doki.

So I was enticed mostly because there was an unknown Sailor Moon items included in the box. Much to my dismay is was a Sailor Moon Crystal Desserts blind box. A little box with little tiny plastic dessert things like for dolls or something. I was so disappoint. Salt in the wound I got the Sailor Mercury set, my least favorite of the inner sailor scouts. Blind boxes are always a crap shoot for me and I usually lose.

Next we have the Petite Lapin Plushie. Mine was blue and super cute but super I have no idea what to do with it. In the booklet it explains, "...a fully original character i,imagined by the artists at Japan Create, and we hope you love him as much as we do!..is a Japanese rabbit who founds his love for everything French at his school's culture club. He was finally able to save up enough money to go to France last spring and enjoyed visiting....inspired by French ...macrons and eclairs..." Super cute but no where to attach a string to attach him to a bag or anything.

The Ice Cream Cone Pens were a mystery to my at first. I was like...this are dumb. You just attached them to a bag and they just sit there. I didn't read the booklet. Then I finally popped one open and there it was! A pen! ACTUALLY SO USEFUL! I attached one to my going out purse and now if I ever forget a pen when I'm shopping I can just unhook it and use that to cross out the items I've already got from the grocery. Yessssssssss. And there is 2 of them! Blue and yellow.

Hoppe Chan: Sweet Deco, the center piece of the box since it's named after this is a vert special key chain adorable kawaii dessert type thingy. There was a contest to create your own and submit to win some Sailor Moon stuff, that I totally missed but and how it's super cute. The "white icing" that is sited under everything but on top of the base is made of some rubber material but it's so enjoyed able to squish. I have no idea why. Everything is very securely in it's space. I'm still trying to find a place to put this little concoction.

Hoppe Chan Stickers. Adrobs. Need I say more?

Hello Kitty x Doraemoon coin purse. Unfortunately I already have enough coin purses but I was was pleasently surprised to see a Hello Kitty component to the box, It's plastic but I'm sure it holds up well and holds a lot of coins. I don't know if I will keep or put up on edivv and Swapidu.

Hello Kitty Strawberry Senbei. Okay so Senbei. It's kind of like rice crackers but with a suble frosting caked/baked on top. I actually picked up a bag of these in maple flavor in a regular bag somewhere like a week before I got this box and tried it out. I loved it. It's light and has enough sweet for my sweet tooth. So finding these in my box was like, I KNOW WHAT THESE ARE. YUM.

Iwako cake & Ice cream Erasers. I know these are soooooooooooo cute but I soooooooo don't want them because what the heck am I going to do with them? They don't make good art erasers and I'm not in school anymore so what to do? Also they are really too cute to use. I will likely list this on my swap sites sadly.

Sweet Bread Company Mirror went straight into my work bag. I can use this because I don't currently have one and I get so busy sometimes I can get to the bathroom to check myself out. I might also start wearing light make up to work so this would help a lot to prevent embarrassing smudges.

Lastly the Kawaii Animal Donut Charm. I found a home for this one right away. I just bought one of those hot new polaroid cameras everyone is going bananas about. There was a perfect spot to attach something cute like a cell phone strap so I went for it. Though I have yet to use the camera, when I do I know it will be decks out in cuteness.

Phew! So many things! This is why I think the box is worth the 30$. It ships from Japan and it has A LOT of stuff. I recently redid my budget and I am now on a 1 box no more than 30$ per month plan (not including Pusheen) so this is the box I chose to stick with for a little while as I am not seeing stuff I want to give up.

8/10 keepers!

2016 GGM May Unboxing

What a dudder. After last months unboxing I was so hopeful that it was going to pick up again, but no. Disappointment in almost everything.

Let me first complain that the Final Fantasy Materia Bath Bomb was EVERYWHERE in the box, This would not really be in issue if I wasn't slightly allergic to these things. I can touch them but I absolutely cannot use them in the bath. So this was a surprise in the box but not a good one. I had to dust off the other stuff. The smell is really strong neither good nor bad in my opinion but dusty. It's a shame I can't use it.

The Playstation earrings are the only thing I will be keeping from this box. They are simple and easily recognizable. I have double holes at the bottom of my ears but these are a little too big . They over lap each other then I just let me go naturally so I'm just a tiny bit sad about that.

Halo Energy Sword Ring; Thumbs down. I played this game back in the day and it was one of the shooters I was never good at. So I don't really like this piece. On the plus size it is adjustable for sizes 3-11 but when you stretch something so small to like a 9 1/2 which is what I am it starts to get wonky and can easily pinch your under finger.

The Final Fantasu Gunblade Necklace was promising but I'm not too much of a fan of when it showed up (in 8) and onwards. I prefer the older games. I tried playing FF 13 but it was too future realistic for me liking. I promised I played more than 5 minutes. But I think I gave is about half hour before calling quits. So this is a piece from a game a I like but not the gen I care for.

Pin and bag keepers as always for tracking purposes. I wonder if they will offer previous boxes in the future. Or make your own box with just the games you care about. I know I mentioned that in my last post.

1/4 keepers + pen + bag

2016 Pusheen May unboxing

PUSHEEN FINALLY CAMEEEEEEE!

Picture overload, I know; sorry I was just trying to give a good example of the box because these are TOTALLY WORTH IT.

Going through the list. Pusheen Apron is just what I need. I don't have one for cooking and baking so now I can use it and feel cute to the max at the same time.

Pusheen Socks to keep my feeties warm. Although it's summer here, I am still looking forward to wearing these babies in eye-shot. Just haven't figured out to yet. Maybe I need to get a Pusheen dress to match (eh., eh Pusheen people? A plus sized Pusheen dress, come oooonnnn),

Pusheen pins! I'm always leery to put my pins on anything because I'm scared to death they will fall off so these will probably got on my button ribbon (also afraid of losing

Stickers, always welcome, always hoarded. I never want to use them but I will start soon. I bought a bunch from Wish.com so I don't need to hoard all my cute stickers anymore. Besides, I'm not a school girl who uses a planner anymore.

Rain, rain, come today so I can USE THIS PUSHEEN UMBRELLA! AHHH! So useful and so kawaii! This went into my care right away for proper use. I might leave it at work for when it rains just when going out to the car. Yeah.

I've been so into chicks and hens lately so this Pusheen Planter is going to be purr-fect for this. Since it has a hole at the bottom it will allowed water to drain through. I do already have a bulbbsaur planter so I might just use this one to hold stuff. This house we are renting is just so tiny there's no where to put stuff!

I bake. I make cookies. I haven't in a while but I'm more motivated with this Pusheen cookie cutter. I'm thinking it will be used more around Christmas time so I can save a bit of money so I can continue these boxes for next year. Gotta try it out soon though.

The Key topper is a nice idea but I'm afraid the key would slide out. It's not like the others where you push it through the top and then you have a hole to shove it on the key ring. It just kind of pops inside the key holder and has a chain top to connect to your key ring. Also dangerous to lose. So I'm not sure if I'm goin to use this particular thing.

Last but not least.....drum roll.....the limited edition.....Pusheen Chef Vinyl. This little guy is a little bit wonky. I try to get it to just sit on the pegs from the platform but it doesn't seem to want to cooperate. I finally got it partially on so I'm just not touching it now but I wonder if I should have emailed them with the problem. I wouldn't want to go through the trouble of sending it back, paying for it, paying to get it and waiting. Like, I waited enough. And It will end up on in my display case anyhow (when I move) so it's not like I'll be constantly messing with it.

Worth it? Yes. I estimate the apron 15-25$, socks at least 10$, umbrella 30$, vinyl at least 25$ etc.

Hope the wait isn't so long for the next box. I thought it was every 4 months not every 5. I know I'm getting a total of 4 boxes.

2016 Gamer Girl Monthly April Unboxing

April's box was actually pretty good. I was tight on money and about to cancel but didn't yet and I was happily surprised.

Although I already have a coin purse, the Kirby Coin Purse is absolutely adorable. I stashed it in my going-out-purse but haven't found a use for it yet. It opens and closes properly and doesn't take up too much space.

The Pokeball Ring is THE CUTEST. I've bought cheap rings from Chinese dollar stores and they all tarnish right away but this little guy stands up to the elements. I only really take my rings off to shower. I wash my hands with them on and so far (writing this is June) no tarnish. Still going strong. I love that the rings are adjustable but I can only adjust these rings for my pinky. Still, I wear it.

Controller Earrings! Ah! So cute. I don't like that they are gold but if I ever have to wear gold jewelry for any reason I now have a go to pair. These are on the tiny side and then buttons aren't painted differently so they may be hard to make out what they are unless it's really shiny out or something. Yet still keepers.

The Aku Aku Necklace is of no interest to me. I didn't like Crash Bandicoot. This is where I wish GGM would let you choose the games you like and then you will only get merch for those games (have the reason I canceled in June so no more unboxings from July on for this one, I did however stay on for the anniversary box so I'm excited to receive that).

Then the pin kept per usual, not really geared toward me but it is what it is. You can buy them in the store now so I guess that is kinda cool.

Why am I cancelling?

Money is getting tight. I'm trying to say 10% more every check for a bigger down payment on a house so I can get a better mortgage rate. Also the boxes are so hit or miss. Like I said earlier I wish they let you pick only the games you are interested in. There was a survey that went out hinting they might consider doing that but it's yet to be confirmed. If it is real then I will most likely sign back up despite the money thing (I cancelled Ipsy and Birchbox too).

3/4 Keepers! Woo! + pin

When I die

So I always find myself morbidly going around saying "when I die do this." I guess since my mom got cancer and died twice I guess I just accepted it is going to happen at any point, out of my control and I should have all my estates in order before I do drop dead (likely from dark chocolate maple creme filled Russell Stover eggs).

Things I've requested so far:

  • If I'm really dead, donate all plausabile organs then donate my body to science under the single condition that when science is done my body is cremated and returned to my family/spouse
  • Have someone dressed as the Grim Reaper and chill out at my burial (if there is one) and the funeral
  • Throw a party for the "wake;" celebrate life and don't wallow in my loss
  • Distribute a copy of a studio Ghibli film (preferably Kiki's Delivery Service) to every child in attendance of funernal/wake (age just born to about 15)
  • Make sure you have a chocolate fountain
  • Sell my My Littest Petshop collection on Ebay. It's probably a small fortune, I just want to keep it as long as I'm alive
  • PHOTOBOOTH at the wake (work out people crying details...) Maybe sailor moon themed?
  • Costco Cake, lots of it
  • Read and publish my obituary (this should be written in a journal somewhere. I'll start the one I like the best before I die)
  • If both I and my partner have passed, my cats must be surrendered to their godfather OR someone in either of our families, they may never be put in a shelter (if that means money is needed, it will be allocated to prevent sheltering our babies)
  • Thor goes straight to Shaun, my brother
  • Cremate me and make my ashes in those pretty art glass things (http://www.artfromashes.com/index.htm)
  • If you bury me instead, bury me all natural (assuming I'm dead dead dead and unusual for science) in a wooden box with a string tied to my finger that leads to a bell on the surface so if I'm not really dead I can ring it before I suffocate under ground
  • Or make me a tree (http://www.capsulamundi.it/en/)

Things I DO NOT want to happen:
  • Do not with hold perfectly good organs from being donated if I'm dead
  • Don't throw me into the ocean
  • Don't leave me on a shelf by myself for long periods of time
  • Don't pull the plug if I have brain activity
  • Don't turn me into a sex toy
  • If you bury me do not drain my blood and put formaldehyde in it unless there was foul play afoot
  • Don't eat my ashes, you cannot become my awesome by eating me
  • No open casket because likely I will be cremated or buried naturally only
  • No clowns

My hair obsession, getting through sticking to one chemical change for months but having practically any color I want (explained)

WARNING: picture formatting is too hard with blogger for some reason so I don't care. Let them be free. The reading kind of goes with the picture clumps.

So over the past decade I have abused my hair. Well actually go back in time....

August 2003

.
June 2008
It's some where between 6th and 8th grade (no picture). I begged my mom let me to try the crazy colors my old brothers were doing. To stave me off she agreed to let me get highlights. I pushed the envelope and got platinum blonde. I stuck with that until high school.

High school was my experimental ground. I had almost every color; green, red, orange, pink, yellowish...I rebelled, and dyed my hair a very rich color green (see above). Of course to get this vivid color I had stripped my hair beforehand by myself. I was referred affectionately as "green" in my intermediate science classes (partly because my best friend at the time have blue hair and her nickname was 'Blue.)" Eventually I branched out and tried other colors, always stripping my hair when needed. Sometimes I stuck with a color for months because it would fade in a week and I just had to keep reapplying

Eventually I started making my own money and I upgraded. I had a hair dresser do the coloring. I got afraid all my hair would fall out, I'd done so much damage. I feel in love. In comes Carrie. She has always understood what I've wanted and given me what I want to the extent that was possible.

After high school I started doing "natural" colors. I wanted fire engine red but we could never get it there so I started seeking a red headed copper. For the "longest" time I have a red variation hair color. We also did red-black two toned just to put some variety in. Then I just decided one day, black. I can't remember when life event, coming or going of a boyfriend or what but I went black. There was my first real mistake. I should have never gone black. It's so hard to lift. Eventually though, I went back to red. I don't know why. And again, I went black. I don't know what I was thinking. My hair was invincible? Somehow I went back to red though. And then I met my boyfriend. And I started a new job (bottom right with hat).

Trigger the rainbow era. It started with purple. I had been working at my new job for a several months, I had been with my boyfriend for a few months and I was red for a "long" time and I was itching for a change. I went purple, which faded to pastel. Then I went two-toned blue. A Mermaid blue. But it wasn't enough. I went mermaid unicorn. Purple, blue, magenta all professionally mixed and paid for only to last a month before I would have to shell out a million dollars again.

I got poor. So I went black...almost. I went black with a streak of blonde. It was like nothing I'd tried before. Just a little something to mix it up. It was cheap to maintain, just touch up the blonde spot roots. Presto. I stuck with this hair for a LONG time. I'm talking over six months (almost a year now!).

August 2015
Then I finally decided, it was time. I wasn't going to wait anymore. I want to go grey.

White/grey (which are distinctively different) have both always been on my hair color bucket list. The trouble is, I've got a lot of black. Previously we only needed to lift enough to go red, which was still hiding under the first time I went black. It was harsh but doable. Now that's it's been almost a year, I've been begging my hair dresser to let me know when I could go grey. I finally announced I didn't want to wait and she agreed....to a time line.

So what is a girl to do in the mean time? We I started getting into cheap extensions. Cheap COLORED extensions. So I put color and length in the back of my hair but it looks weird with a streak of blonde in the front. In comes HAIR CHALK.

Feb 2016
March 2016

I never wanted to lose the blonde and I didn't want to commit to a color for my streak so I tried hair chalk, the most casual and temporary of hair coloring. At first I was nervous. I was putting a two-toned blue on my streak. I was sure it was going to stain. It was EVERYWHERE. My hair, my scalp, my forehead, my ears. But I covered it all up and you know what? It looked good. I love surprising my coworkers so I didn't tell them it was going to wash out first shower I got. I left it in for 3 days. Then I washed it out. And it didn't stain!.I now knew of a brand that I could use that would not stain my blonde streak! I could do colors again! I went on a hair extension shopping spree. Pastel purple, red, two-toned blue, regular purple, green and yellow, wine red and magenta and hot pink! I had to get chalk to match. For the two-toned colors I would two-tone my streak.

Safe brands: Diggity do color pop (found at Ulta but is limited time)

Brands I have but have not tried yet: Hair-Chalk-Set-Temporary-Effects and Hot Huez

I haven't actually used all the colors yet, I got sick/tired & sick and tired of the work but I still throw it in on special occasions. All the while I wait for my transformation to grey to begin.

Hypomania hydroplane

So it's probably time for an update. Of course, never in a timely manner.

I've been riding the hypomania train for a long, long while now. Months. How do I identify this? Here's how it goes:

  • I have energy. I could exercise, I can get things done during the week evenings. If we need lemons I can go to the store and get them. I'm actually compelled to get tasks done.
  • Creativity gave birth to the Great Scrapbook Age. Feverishly working on a creative project from beginning to end (which usually doesn't get finished) just shows I'm in a place where my mind is everywhere giving me the ability to hyper-focus on a project and get it done.
  • Spending. I aired all my secrets, I couldn't handle the toxicity of lying or omitting purchases I made to my boyfriend anymore. I just told him everything. I've spent a tremendous amount. It's a shame because I could have used it on a bigger purchase but we're getting it under control now that I'm really working WITH him as opposed to hiding.
  • Keeping up with chores. It seems so small but it's so big. Even if I couldn't get out of the house, I CAN get things done around the house.
  • I'm social. Despite the Bipolar, GAD and social anxiety, I can see people and not feel like sleeping as soon as I get home. I'm actually antsy on the weekends if we have nothing planned because I need something to drain my energy.

But it's been MONTHS. How long can this last? I've never had it last this long, ever. A week tops. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be my level, my normal. If so, then I have some nasty habits that need constant attention. We tried swapping a medication to see if it would help but the old stuff might not be out of my system yet so I don't know what the next few months hold. Hopefully a leveling out. Control the bad habits and keep the energy enough to be a normal adult.
