2016 Ipsy March unboxing

This is a hit and miss bag for me. The bag actually also being a miss itself. Do not like.

The Margaret Dabbs London Super Shiner Buffer? Who needs another one of those? Why is it special? Not going to keep.

The essence cosmetics - make me brow eyebrow gel mascara, I don't do my eyebrows so it's moot for me to keep.

The liquid eyeliner, ILLAMASQUA - Precision Ink in Abyss, I've actually had a chance to try and I love it. Since I exclusively do cat eye eye liner, I need something with precision so I'm not going back and forth to each side trying to level it out and making the wings much heavier than intended. This is a difinate keep.

The ModelCo - LIP LACQUER Lip Gloss, is just a gloss and not a very exciting color. The sample size is generous but I'm not into glosses. I mostly just shoot for matte.

The other thing I'm excited for is the Marc Anthony Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco 3 Day Smooth Perfect Blow Dry Cream. I can't wait to see how this will affect my hair. I haven't blow dried my hair in some time but I plan to soon so I will have  to try this. The fact that is lasts 3 days also makes me excited as I often change up my hair and want to keep it a certain color or style for a few days (dry shampoo in-between days).

What I wish I had gotten instead:

First Aid Beauty
Ultra Repair Hydrating Serumm

Living Proof
Perfect hair Day Dry Shampoo

Skone Cosmetics
Insanely Intense Tattooed Eyeliner in Jet Black

Organic Surge
Lavender Meadow Hand & Nail Cream

NYX Cosmetics
Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick

2016 Gamergirl Feb unboxing

I'm beginning to get fairly unimpressed by the Gamer Girl Monthly boxes. I knew going into it that it would mostly be jewelry but it's just so cheaply made. And most of the time it doesn't really align with my gaming interest. Plus it gets monotonous. Zelda is a common theme (which thankfully I'm totally into) but I'd really like to see them branch out. How about some Smash brothers? Bayonetta? Maybe a sheep and a pillow plush from Catherine?

As you can see from above there were only 4 items in the February box (not included the bag and button that are not pictured, sorry laziness).

I've already had a chance to wear the Left 4 Dead med packs and got a compliment by a guy coworker. The problem with them is that they pop out my ears so I have to remember to put rubber backings on when I wear them. The right one popped off 3 times in one night. Gladly I felt it and it got caught in my hair for easy retrieval.

Plants Vs Zombies I have 0% interest in. I actually listed it on my Swapidu and eDivv make up and fashion trading sites for a trade off. Maybe there's another trading group I can find for this sort of thing.

The Zelda health potion necklace is of some interest but its sooooooooooooo cheaply made. I bet it would break after a few wears after getting tangled in my hair. Also I already wear 2 permanent necklaces around the same length. It would probably get tangled with them and break. I could find a more sturdy chain if I felt liek it BUT this would totally be a have-to-take-off before a shower thing and eventually the silver will tarnish because it's of such low quality the plating is so thin. So not sure what I'm going to do with it yet.

The bag I'm simply using to hold spare ear buds.

The button gets added to my all of buttons.

Lastly, the Aeris' bow. It's big. I don't think I have any dresses I could wear it with to pass it off as a regular bow for people who won't recognize it. I do think it would be really cute on the tap back of my head with a french braid underneath and coming down the rest of my hair but I haven't mastered that hair maneuver yet. So for now it just takes up a bunch of room in my hair things drawer. Maybe I'll get a dress that will provide some wear for the bow.

2016 Ipsy Feb unboxing

OMG, this bag, can we talk about this bag? This is the cutest thing! I'm tempted to swap some of my stash just to get a second one (actually I probably will). Bag is spot on though 10/10!

The Perfect Formula Pink Gel Coat doesn't actually do much. It's just a strengthener top base coat. And the sample size a little underwhelming. I'm on the fence about keeping it; I don't think there are many uses in this tiny bottle.

Paula Dorf Baby Eyes Enhance, I'm not sure what this is supposed to do. It's a pencil so I pretty much have already written it off to the swap stash. It's pretty much my skin color so not sure what effect it would actually produce; it claims "...this baby-toned pencil brightens the lower rim of the eye." Ehhh...

Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Primer Oil is a complete mystery to me. I don't use heavy make up anywhere on my face, the place I use the most my eyes but I don't prime them or anything. This is a fail oil and since my face is oily in some places I don't believe this is a product for me. Ipsy, what were you thinking? I told you about my skin.

Lipgloss. I do not use lipgloss. The VINTAGE by Jessica Liebsking Sparkling Lipgloss in Pink Sequin is just not interesting to me. The color is very pink in the bottle and for all I know it's a clumpy creamy gloss so I'd be even more unhappy with it if I bothered to open it to try it out. I'm better off leaving it sealed and swapping it.

Lastly the Pure Brazilian Deep Conditioning Hair Masque. This is exactly up my alley. My hair is managed from years of color changes (I've only recently vowed to stick to the same color scheme for a whole year, I'm over 6 months thus far but I also have a little cheat to help me out). I hope I get 3-4 uses from it but my hair just sucks this sort of stuff up and then there's nothing to rinse. Doesn't matter though, I'm going to try it out.

2016 Birchbox Feb unboxing

Warning: color is distorted. So February BirchBox was totally acceptable. Aside from the nail polish I kept everything.

I've had a chance to use the POP Cozy Crimson (which is a full sized product I think). It's wonderful! Very bright red. Perfect for my 50s look or my black (red)fox dress that I always accompany with a very red sweater.

[add photo]

The NANOBAY cream is nice. It's a tiny bit tacky but my hands feel so smooth after using it. I would say it could be used on the face but it doesn't have an SPF...but I might use it on my nose throughout the day because both side of my nose get really dry and flaky and I work indoors all day anyhow. There isn't really a smell dispite the sage but it's almost completely organic. It does have stuff like marshmallow, olive oil, chamomile and aloe in it which I find interesting.

The heyhoney Take It Off peel mask I'm super stoked to try out. It's for all skin types so I'm slightly skeptical it won't irritate my skin but it seems like a light weight peel which is the sort I'm looking for now.

Now I have a ton of argan oil stuff I'm trying to get rid of because I feel it only makes my hair oil-ly; I'm not sure if that's because I have very fine hair or what but I'm willing to give this ARGAN HAIR MASK a try and see if it's more light weight. It's a conditioning treatment as opposed to the spray ons I've used. So I'm going to keep it.

The only thing I don't care for is the COLOR CLUB That's my Jam nail polish. I have a wall of nail polish and this one doesn't have anything going for it to pop out or excite me. It's a darker red in the bottle and more of a pinkish jelly jam color.

All and all I'm very happy with the sample sizes and number of items included in this box. I think BirchBox is starting to get on my vibe of what I'm wanting to try.

2015 Pusheen December Unboxing AHHHHHHHHHHH

PUSHEEN EXCLUSIVE FIRST TIME BOX

So this was an instant, no-regrets, whoa-that's-a-lot-of-money, worth, never-look-back purchase. Whooping 183.30$ for the whole year.

So I'm going to be getting 4 total boxes (this December past, and now sometime in March). In December it was a birthday present to myself, So pictured above is the item list and all items except the cards. I couldn't find those for some reason.

So to review. The hat it's my style so I probably won't be wearing it but I'm so cautious because I don't want to sell it. But it takes up space so I should give it up right? But PUSHEEN. I don't know maybe I'll make it work. It looks like all the other beanies. Not good look on me.

The note cards are empty and adorbs. You can see from the website's official photo. There's 3. If I ever find them I'll have to make sure I really like the person I'm sending them too. Or I might greedy and just frame them. Who knows.

The erasers are adorable but not practical. I'd never use them for anything other than drawing maybe and they aren't the right type of drawing. Maybe I'll turn them into magnets. Meh.

The T-shirt, which actually fits for once!, you can see in my photo I've already altered. I like the off the should look for these bigger shirts so I cut the collar and then some for a big, wide dip. I actually didn't cut too much which I am thankful for but it doesn't seem to like to drape off one shoulder, Awkwardly like hangs slightly off one side but not at the same time until I adjust it. Oh well, there will probably be another shirt in the next and I can experiment with that one.

The hand warmer I never had the chance to use this season. I'm sure there were good times for it but I didn't even remember I had it. Took me a minute to find where I stored it. But it's very soft and it has a squishy hot water bottle sack inside it (which is removable). Next year I will definitely use it (or you know next week, I DO live in Michigan).

The USB is 4GB. IT's a little had to pry the bottom off but of course it's the cutest little thing. Kitty in a cup, come on now. Since that would only hold like a single movie for me, I'll probably use it for photos or documents. Small files. I wish it had a loop for a key chain loop to go on it though, or made one of those little string clippy thingys.

Keychain is keychain. On my key chain of course.

The coffee cup is a TOTAL bummer. You can see though from my picture at the top and the one in the official picture. This has happened with LIGHT wear and tear, HAND WASHING with luke warm water, only scrubbing on the inside. DO NOT put this in the microwave OR the dishwasher. It will get ruined. Look at mine, it got messed by HAND WASHING! I'm going to e-mail about it (I should have a while ago) but we'll see what happens.

Lastly, the vinyl first ever Pusheen is made in China, like most of this stuff. It's very sturdy; mine didn't have any imperfections so I'm pleased. The bottom has a little hole so I supposed that could play into displaying it but it just chills on my desk as I write this post. Little adorable eyes staring at me.

So I'm impressed. Worth 40$? Yeah because the shirt would be probably 30$ on it's own, then cup 15-20$ and the vinyl 20$ etc.

I can't wait for next box! Soon!

2016 Gamer Girl Monthly January unboxing

Ok this is a stock photo. I didn't plan unboxings until like mid February so I didn't get pictures of this box.

Bag is standard. It's a purple one with orange generic "super girl" type figure on it. I just use these for spare earbud bags.

Button is Child of Light. Funny enough my boyfriend starter speed running this game this month. He's beaten the world record a few times by now (I'm writing this is march). It goes on my wall of buttons.

The Player 1/2 bracelets are so cute but I can't get my boyfriend to wear one so it's kind of pointless. I wore the Player 1 for a week or so. The bead tie does not stay secure it just keep slipping down. I found there was more than enough slack to tie a loose know to keep the bead in place and the bracelet comfortably on my wrist. It was a little annoying when I was typing (since I do that all day). The silver plating seems pretty sturdy but I took pre-cautions to take it off before showering. And I hate jewelry that forces me to do that. They are still a keep but will rarely be used.

The Zelda treasure box ring is cute but hard to identify at first (picture upside down above). It's open ended on the back so easy for adjustment. But it's pretty bulky. I was wearing it for a few weeks but opted for a different ring. IF you look at it far away it looks like the box it's meant to look like but up close it's meh. The silver plating on the back of the ring will wear off quickly with natural sweat and oils from my hands which is a bummer but the top should stay intact.

The Tough girl stickers are like, I like the characters they included but I do not like the art style at all. I just threw these in my sticker pile. Not sure if I'll use them or give them away as gifts,

The Tomb raider necklace (I had to look up because wow I forgot) is nice it seems to be made of painted metal and it's got a brown leathery chain part. It's adjustable. I've played some of the games but I wasn't overly impressed by them so I don't really feel a connection to this piece of jewelry which is a real shame because it seems to be of better quality than some things I've gotten so far. Not gonna keep it.

2016 Ipsy January unboxing

Ipsy January, I'm disappoint. Starting with the bag, not my style at all.Ir'a plain blue on the back and the smaller side; you can technically fit the brush inside the bag but the tip would get smooshed.

The only thing I was remotely interested is the Hanalei Sugar Lip Scrub. I haven't actually been able to use it yet but when dry lip season hits me I'm going to try this out and see how it works. Usually around that time all I can do it dig and try to strike gold with my Blistix medicated lip balm (in the dark green tube). It prevents me from wearing any colored lip stick/stain/whatever.

The Skone Cosmetics Smudger Brush I just don't need; I have an arsenal of brushes in the closet already. This is an instant swap item.

theBalm Mr. Write (Now) is a little disappointing. I wish there was a way to say "only black and white eyeliners please" until I'm ready to start asking for colors. This one is a brownish color from what I can tell online and the tip of the bottom (I'm leaving it unopened for higher chance to swap).

The Pixi by Petra Memesrizing Duo in Lavendar Bloom (that's a long one) just aren't my colors. I'm looking for very specific colors right now until I'm ready to branch out into random colors. I'm still trying to perfect the NUDE smokey eye (the regular smokey eye I always feel it's just terribly wrong and I wipe it off immediately and try the nude style instead...).

Lastly the Burt's Bees Cleansing Oil...what? Cleansing....oil? I'm afraid to even use this on my face for fear of break outs. How does oil clean your face? My face naturally produces a lot of oil in some places. It's not what I want!

Looking at the other options that would have been better for me: skyn ICELAND Travel size Glacial Cleansing cloths, V-Luxe by i-ENVY (lashes with glue) or Dirty little secret cosmetics satin lipstick in Vengeance.

Things I would have rather gotten:

skyn ICELAND
Travel Size Glacial Cleansing Cloths

V-Luxe by i•ENVY
V-Luxe Eyelashes with Mini Lash Glue

Klorane
Floral Water Make-up Remover with Soothing Cornflower

Dirty Little Secret Cosmetics
Satin Lipstick in Vengeance

2016 Birchbox January unboxing

So this is January box (sorry it's really late).  Most of the stuff I could use but I'm not to keen on.

So the Cythnia Rowley eyeliner I didn't bother trying, it's just another eyeliner. I actually think I've already traded it out on my make up swap sites.

The Whish Three Whishes body butter is to die for! The smell is amazing. Thank goodness I got almond and not pomegrate (it would have irritated my skin because I'm a little allergic). It's very hydrating, smooth, not tacky at all and not heavy oil-ly feeling. Just what I'm looking for a purse lotion to pop in and use as needed.

The TONYMOLY Delight Tony Tint #2 red is HOT RED. It's a really saturated stain. It takes a VERY long time to dry so I haven't actually gotten a chance to wear it out yet. However it's a great color, the hot red color goes when I'm shooting for a 50s look. The sample however, is disappointing. It's extremely small and so liquidity I'm not sure how many uses I'll get out of it.

The Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect I have not tried yet HOWEVER it's a leave in conditioner/detangler. I ALWAYS need those. And since this is a sample size it will be perfect for traveling (which I'm doing 2-3 times a year now). I love the little crocodile on the front.

Lastly, Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute peel, I'm on the fence. I haven't tried it yet. I have some other face peels so I'm not sure if I want to keep this one. The "luminous" part doesn't really appeal to me. I'll likely post it on my make up swap sites and if I don't see any action I'll take it down and try it out.

Dead Pool Review

Movie Review

Mmm mmm Deadpool goodness

Tagline: "With great power comes great irresponsibility."

Synopses: Deadpool is a sexy "super hero" with a potty mouth, hilarious antics and complete disregard for movie rules. That really sums it up.

Best Quote: "Listen Al, if I never see you again, I want you to know that I love you very much. I also buried 1,600 kilos of cocaine somewhere in the apartment – right next to the cure for blindness. Good luck."

Overall Review: At first I wasn't excited when I heard Deadpool was coming out. I know, how dare I? I was never really formally introduced to the character; I'd just seen people cosplaying Deadpool at cons. I also heard things here and there, "He's inappropriate," "Absolutely hilarious," "Not a super hero." So I went to the movie without much more knowledge than that. To my pleasant surprise, all these hearsay were true. The movie is absolutely funny. Breaking the fourth wall is my absolute favorite parts of the movie. I loved Deadpool talking to us. Lots of action, lots of blood and nonsensical happenings. But it was a refreshing "hero" movie. I'm not a big fan of the super hero movies; I really only liked Iron Man and Thor.

Unfortunately a lot of adults are too lazy to read into things and brought their kids to see this "super hero" movie and got really upset of all the gore, sexual content and violence. I really hope that doesn't halt a second movie.

WATCH but not for children
