002: An update to another new beginning?

The Revival

Whatever Google search, I don't have time to find a suitable, readable picture for my  opening reference.

Much like the beginning of Bob's burgers, I have time and time again began a post for this blog and never followed through by hitting that 'post' button. I had hoped to find time to contribute to the research I am requiring of myself to find relatively obscure geek news but I was unable to due to my job and school time suckers. However, I recently quit my job so I should have enough time to devote to this project I've been wanting to start for years now. But somehow I am still finding myself at a road block to just getting done what needs to be done. So I am declaring now, to the 0 readers I have at this time that I am going to make an effort and promise to post at least once a week, on Friday (probably, don't quote or quill me on that). If nothing else I will feel better about it. Maybe I will get famous doing something I love (HA! Yeah right...).

Bioshock, anyone?

So I've decided to just focus on what I'm doing right now for topics. That being said, I want to take you back to the days of old, when Bioshock was a new thing and people were playing it. Let's just speak of the xbox version as I am PC impaired at the moment and have not even demoed the PC version. I have just started the game and with my abundant free time you would think I would be much further in the game by now....and die less. However, I am finding it is much more difficult that I had originally anticipated. It took me a week to beat the first boss, Doctor Steinman. I learned later from a friend that this battle would have been massively improved (easier?) had I kept my Electro Shock ability rather than keeping that silly Incinerate flame thing. Or maybe if I had seen THE HUGE OIL PUDDLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROOM.

"Why do we have two eyes? Is there some law that says we must? Two arms, two legs, two breasts..."
He has got a point, more than 2 are always better....that is a grammatical disaster.

It took me several million health packs later to defeat my first Big Daddy. It was a horribly frustrating experience that involved many "Damn it!"s being yelled in my xbox mic as I chatted with a friend (which later I decided is a bad idea and plan not to do anymore). I couldn't find a good strategy to dodge the drill attacks or the charge attacks for that matter. I'm not particularly good at aiming and I rely on dodging far too much (the many, many months and months of Gears of War 3 in me I suppose). I tried running around corners, I didn't have any robotic aids and my shot sucks. Basically the best combo for Big Daddy wins and me losses, which is kind of crushing my pride in being a gamer girl.

Right now I'm at the point where I could actually switch my gene abilities at a gene station however there is a particularly difficult Big Daddy I had managed to get into the red fairly quickly but ran out of space to back up into and kept getting my face bashed in. That is where I quit for the day. I am determined to beat this game and move onto Bioshock 2 as quickly as possible. Let's just hope my learning curve peaks soon, or Big Daddy's will only crush my virtual man game character face but my dreams as well.
